There are different stove thermometers available on the market some are designed for measuring the flue temperatures and some are for measuring the temperature of the stove body.

Cheshire Design Centre has worked with one of the longest established manufacturers of stove thermometers to design a Stove Top Thermometers which is suitable for use on the top, front or side surface of your wood burning or multi-fuel stove. They are attached magnetically and require no tools for installation.
Flue pipe thermometers are available on the market usually supplied with either a self-tapping screw or a wire to wrap around the flue pipe. These thermometers are suitable for single wall flue pipe only.
Where a twin wall flue pipe is used then a probe style thermometer should be used.
If the single wall flue pipe is made from enamelled steel then a magnetic fixing thermometer can be used however it is important to know that if the stove pipe exceeds a temperature of 400°C then the magnet will fail and the thermometer could fall to the floor which could in turn damage the floor covering.
In countries where the market for wood burning appliances is more developed there is a stove fan thermometer available. These are used to indicate the temperature for optimal fan performance and are located on the top of the stove. The mechanism for the Fan thermometer is the same as the stove top thermometer but the graphics have been changed to give a better indication at a glance.
Our Cheshire Design Centre stove top thermometers have an enamelled surface and a clearly marked dial. These can be used on the stove top or for occasional use on the flue pipe but have been designed to show the range of temperatures most suitable for the stove body.
